What’s Really Happening in Your Body Each Week of Your Cycle

Your body isn’t the same every day. Even though the world teaches us to be equally productive, cheerful, and full of energy all the time, the truth is very different. A woman’s body moves in rhythm. It has its own cycle, its own flow, its natural pattern of rise and rest.

Each week of your cycle brings something new — hormonal changes, shifts in energy, different cravings for food, movement, and connection. Once you start understanding this, you begin to observe yourself with more gentleness. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” you start realizing that everything is actually working perfectly.

At Moonloom, we like to describe the cycle through four unique phases — FLOW, BLOOM, GLOW, and SOOTHE. Each phase carries its own purpose, its own magic, and its own message from your body.

🩸 FLOW — Your Beginning (Menstrual Phase)

This is the time when your body sheds the old uterine lining. Estrogen and progesterone levels are at their lowest, which often makes you feel more introspective, quiet, or even exhausted. This isn’t the time for big steps — it’s a time for rest, warmth, and turning inward.

Allow yourself to slow down. Sleep more, eat warm and nourishing foods — soups, cooked vegetables, ginger, comforting teas. Your body needs gentle support. Move slowly: take a walk, stretch, or enjoy a short yin yoga session in the evening.

This is your reset week. You don’t have to prove anything. Just be.

🌷 BLOOM — The Phase of Growth (Follicular Phase)

After your period ends, estrogen begins to rise — and your energy rises with it. You feel lighter, more playful, inspired, and full of ideas. This is the perfect time to start new projects, move your body, and explore creativity.

Your body now craves movement with more rhythm and flow — Pilates, running, dancing, anything that makes you feel alive. Choose lighter, fresher meals: fruits, vegetables, and legumes. Your metabolism becomes more efficient, and your mind feels clearer.

This is your inner spring. Everything is blooming, including you.

☀️ GLOW — The Phase of Radiance (Ovulation Phase)

Estrogen reaches its peak, your libido and confidence rise, and your body feels in perfect balance. This is the time when you’re naturally magnetic, expressive, and connected to the world around you.

You might notice you’re more social, creative, or eager to record, present, or meet people — this is your week. Go for fresh, hydrating foods full of color, and shorter, more intense workouts.

This is your power week. Your glow is natural. You don’t need filters.

🌙 SOOTHE — The Phase of Inner Voice (Luteal Phase)

After ovulation, estrogen begins to drop while progesterone takes the lead. This phase brings more sensitivity, slower rhythm, and a need for order and calm. You might feel the world quiet down around you — and that’s okay.

Your body is asking for more rest, less caffeine, and more warmth. Comforting foods like oats, nuts, and bananas help you stay grounded. Allow yourself to turn inward — journal, take slow walks, spend the evening without screens.

This is your inner autumn. The time to let go of what no longer serves you.

🌺 Living in Sync with Your Cycle

When you begin to understand your cycle, you start understanding yourself. Instead of fighting your body’s changes, you start using them as your strength. You learn when you’re most energized, when your body needs rest, and when your creativity is at its peak.

This isn’t just about hormones — it’s an invitation to connect with yourself on a deeper level. To listen to your body and trust its rhythm.

At Moonloom, we believe that women don’t need perfection — they need understanding. True power comes when you begin to live in tune with your own rhythm.

And very soon, we’ll be introducing something that will help your cycle shine even brighter. Until then, let your body guide the way.
